Walmyr Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes in the game Tomas Berganza did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Miguel Miralles. Marcos Cotilla was a little too slow when Albérico Neto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 2-0. If Isidoro Sarmiento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albérico Neto in the 28th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Renato Fernandez took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 37th minute, Magnus Richardsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Jose Carita in the 39th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Aguinhas's Paulo Renato Fernandez. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Albérico Neto sped through Panama's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Berganza made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albérico Neto in the 59th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Malsepica kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Aguinhas made a substitution. Mazarópi Orange replaced Paulo Renato Fernandez. David Malsepica hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 62nd match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Miralles to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Quadros, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Jardel de Lara's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jardel de Lara helped the player get up and apologised. After 77 played minutes Aguinhas got a freekick which was hit by Jardel de Lara. The supporters of Panama booed when Aguinhas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magnus Richardsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 79 minutes, Walmyr Queirós successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mazarópi Orange in the 80th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Mazarópi Orange made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Aguinhas had won after a very even match.
