The audience thought a goal was coming when 武珂川 got free with Julio Vera in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of play forced BK Forward's goalkeeper Keefe Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. After 59 minutes, Daniel Martínez made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keefe Paulsen having to interfere. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Keefe Paulsen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to BK Forward getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Richard Jansson hit a great ball. In the 85th minute, Daniel Martínez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Daniel Martínez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Daniel Martínez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute, Korey Friedman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by 武珂川 in the 92nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. BK Forward's Oskar Mellberg was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Keefe Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
