Gualterio Loco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 6 minutes into the match, Quebrachitos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Gualterio Loco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 7th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gualterio Loco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 10th minute, Nestor Nuxila left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Quebrachitos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 19 minutes into the game, Aristides Ted was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quebrachitos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Quebrachitos FC's Celedonio Gaizkine got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 29th minute of play forced Quebrachitos FC's goalkeeper Gualterio Loco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Agustín Saelices left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Agustín Saelices might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gualterio Loco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustín Saelices ran back to his position shaking his head. 35 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gualterio Loco. Quebrachitos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustín Saelices was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Quebrachitos FC's Gualterio Loco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Guillermo Bortzaioriz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quebrachitos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guillermo Bortzaioriz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Gualterio Loco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Quebrachitos FC's Gualterio Loco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-5.

Gualterio Loco didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 52nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-6. 54 minutes into the match, Quebrachitos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Gualterio Loco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Quebrachitos FC's players were relieved. Gualterio Loco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 63rd minute of the match. Cristian Sancho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Gualterio Loco skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some careless play in the Quebrachitos FC defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gualterio Loco. The Quebrachitos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gualterio Loco should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Quebrachitos FC's Gualterio Loco managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 81st minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gualterio Loco. Gualterio Loco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-8. 84 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gualterio Loco. Quebrachitos FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Cristian Sancho scored to the left of an out of position Gualterio Loco, making the score, 1-10. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Quebrachitos FC throughout the match.
