In the 3rd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute of play forced Guará FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Guará FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Nelsinho Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelsinho Nascimento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Guará FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Nascimento, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute. Ronaldão Paulista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Guará FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Felix Montenegro scored 0-3 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nelsinho Nascimento, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldão Paulista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nelsinho Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldão Paulista in the 64th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 68 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Harold Willson who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Guará FC's corner Harold Willson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, Guará FC's Nelsinho Nascimento got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Guará FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Nascimento had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Nelsinho Nascimento made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldão Paulista in the 75th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute of the match Guará FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Harold Willson ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Harold Willson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Ronaldão Paulista came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Guará FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronaldão Paulista couldn't finish the play. Lachezar Dzhevov charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lachezar Dzhevov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ecuador's Diego Mancebo was substituted for Cristian Sancho. In the 81st minute, Lachezar Dzhevov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Nelsinho Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th match minute, Guará FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jordan Radojević to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Pedro Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
