The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stanley Wallace charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stanley Wallace the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyle Davies in the 9th minute of play forced Los Angeles Galaxy's goalkeeper Wade Hightower to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Curacao's Charles Cox got a free kick in the 11th minute. After a rather tough play, Los Angeles Galaxy's Namık Kemal Dersu got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute, Ernie Cotton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruno Barrett was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Los Angeles Galaxy's Al Mims was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 17th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Victor Coley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Barrett having to interfere. Rafa Loyola hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The supporters of Los Angeles Galaxy booed when Curacao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanley Wallace didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Victor Coley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Barrett was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Victor Coley received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bruno Barrett came out and tried to block the shot, but Victor Coley slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 36th minute. After having played for 39 minutes, Victor Coley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Angeles Galaxy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Coley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Curacao's Bruno Barrett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Curacao from getting a goal against them. Troy Kennedy kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Coley was the one to do the kick off. Curacao's Bruno Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Al Mims in the 52nd minute of play. A collision led to Curacao getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Charles Cox hit a great ball. Al Mims recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yong Aldridge in the 58th minute of play forced Curacao's goalkeeper Bruno Barrett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Los Angeles Galaxy's Victor Coley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bruno Barrett narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 63rd minute, Ernie Cotton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Angeles Galaxy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. 72 minutes into the match, Curacao's goal looked a bit too open when Ernie Cotton came free, but Bruno Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Barrett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Al Mims's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. A collision led to Curacao getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Troy Kennedy hit a great ball. In the 85th minute Ernie Cotton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Curacao's Bruno Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernie Cotton in the 87th minute of play. Bruno Barrett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Coley in the 89th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Los Angeles Galaxy fully deserved thier win.
