AN&KARASİPAHİLER's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mustafa Birol Birge in the 16th minute. The corner ended in Mustafa Birol Birge almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz did a great save. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Mücahit Arslangiray kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mustafa Birol Birge in the 24th minute of the match. If Mücahit Arslangiray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yağız Bakanay, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Yağız Bakanay scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 3-0. In the 39th minute of the match, Yağız Bakanay tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benito Sanz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yağız Bakanay's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Abel Carballo's late challenge caught a AN&KARASİPAHİLER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abel Carballo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of AN&KARASİPAHİLER booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Yağız Bakanay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. With an all-out effort, AN&KARASİPAHİLER's Benito Sanz threw himself towards the right post 46 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mücahit Arslangiray, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A well-hit corner resulted in Aaron Alcocer heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 67th match minute, AN&KARASİPAHİLER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bilge Kağan Vefalı to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Mustafa Birol Birge came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yağız Bakanay in the 76th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yağız Bakanay in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Yağız Bakanay struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AN&KARASİPAHİLER. The audience was convinced that Yağız Bakanay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. In the 93rd minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mustafa Birol Birge struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AN&KARASİPAHİLER. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AN&KARASİPAHİLER fully deserved thier win.
