Iker Casillas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgar Lang's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Iker Casillas successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 25th minute of the match FC ARK CS got a corner. Villa Gordiani's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sammy Corcoran ran over to the corner to take the kick. Iker Casillas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júlio Severo's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Iker Casillas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Lang in the 28th minute of play. In the 36th minute Bryan White shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edgar Lang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Villa Gordiani's Franco Cacciatore was substituted for Ciro Esposito. Edgar Lang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. The shot was a little too simple and Nicolas Joey could save by the left post. 80 minutes into the match, Villa Gordiani's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Severo came free, but Iker Casillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgar Lang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iker Casillas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play.
