A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. After 11 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. Eleftherios Poulis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30thth minute of the game Juan Pablo Fuentes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nikos Nikolaou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of play. After 37 minutes SAPSALOMADA FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. In the 43rd minute, Umur Sehhar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, SAPSALOMADA FC's 林川扬 got a free kick in the 44th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 45th minute of play forced SAPSALOMADA FC's goalkeeper Nikos Nikolaou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juan Pablo Fuentes made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Pablo Fuentes in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eleftherios Poulis, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. In the 97th minute there was a penalty for SAPSALOMADA FC. Juan Pablo Fuentes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Julio Vera. 2-0. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but SAPSALOMADA FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
