Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Peru's Julian Murillo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Boris Van Acker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 9th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Angelo Prior saved MILLONARIOS FC from getting behind. Peru were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after MILLONARIOS FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Luz Tejedor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Angelo Prior quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Angelo Prior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 11th minute of play. Leonel Cantera was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 15 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milagros Fraga in the 25th minute of play forced MILLONARIOS FC's goalkeeper Angelo Prior to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christoffer Blomqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christoffer Blomqvist in the 31stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rolando Noboa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Angelo Prior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute, Eliseo Mina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 39th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Prior saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Peru were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

54 minutes into the match, MILLONARIOS FC's goalkeeper Angelo Prior had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luz Tejedor. 54 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Angelo Prior, 0-2. Angelo Prior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 61st minute of play forced MILLONARIOS FC's goalkeeper Angelo Prior to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by MILLONARIOS FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Luz Tejedor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Angelo Prior quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Christoffer Blomqvist struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Rolando Noboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MILLONARIOS FC. MILLONARIOS FC's Roberto Quicedo was substituted for Svenn Matzke. MILLONARIOS FC's Kepa Barajo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Moises Gayoso, made in the 74th minute of the game. 88 minutes into the match, Roberto Quicedo notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Angelo Prior took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Gallo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angelo Prior made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Eliseo Mina sent off a good shot on target. The Peru supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
