Jacinto Cuadrado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 3rd minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Agnaldo de Alcântara in the 5th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. 6 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Jacinto Cuadrado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacinto Cuadrado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After 12 minutes Boca Juniors's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Peru's Eliseo Mina to fire away a dangerous shot which Jacinto Cuadrado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jacinto Cuadrado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute Arkadiusz Banaszak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arkadiusz Banaszak in the 17th minute. Rolando Noboa was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Hitzeder Manrique capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hitzeder Manrique really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Hitzeder Manrique's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Rolando Noboa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Gabriel Martinelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Peru's Julian Murillo in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Boca Juniors's goalie prevented a goal. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Rolando Noboa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 39th minute of the match Boca Juniors got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hitzeder Manrique ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Boca Juniors's corner Hitzeder Manrique fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. Jacinto Cuadrado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jacinto Cuadrado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Rolando Amorebieta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. In the 63rd minute Rolando Amorebieta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacinto Cuadrado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hitzeder Manrique in the 68th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Boca Juniors's Jacinto Cuadrado got control of the ball when Milagros Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hitzeder Manrique in the 71st minute of play. Jacinto Cuadrado was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Julian Murillo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Julian Murillo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Boca Juniors's Diego Napier was substituted for Gabriel Martinelli. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 84th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jacinto Cuadrado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Eliseo Mina fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jacinto Cuadrado quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Joaquin Prats hit a great ball. The Peru supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
