Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Wawrzyniec Sakowicz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Ivo Tropchev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustacio Mino in the 23rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Julian Murillo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ivo Tropchev. Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ's Ivo Tropchev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Mina in the 30th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Cesaro in the 32nd minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Ivo Tropchev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ivo Tropchev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Åke Kihlberg kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After 44 played minutes Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ got a freekick which was hit by Åke Kihlberg. After the first half Peru were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A sloppy throw-in by Åke Kihlberg in the 51st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. When Martin Urtado fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ's protests and gave Martin Urtado a yellow card for diving instead. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ! Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Ivo Tropchev made a huge save. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ivo Tropchev didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luz Tejedor went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ's zone, Julian Murillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivo Tropchev came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peru's Joaquin Prats quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Åke Kihlberg, made in the 73rd minute of the game. Fulvio Terenzi hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Milagros Fraga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Ivo Tropchev made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milagros Fraga in the 82nd minute of play forced Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ's goalkeeper Ivo Tropchev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Åke Kihlberg hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. The supporters of Peru booed when Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Åke Kihlberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ's Ivo Tropchev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Ѱ Nuevo Dragón Rojo FC Ѱ from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Gallo got free with Ivo Tropchev in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
