With an all-out effort, Chorroarín's Rolando Noboa threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Guillermo Mitxaut, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Narciso Oinatz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 9th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Oinatz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Narciso Oinatz came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guillermo Mitxaut got free with Rolando Noboa in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Narciso Oinatz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Guillermo Mitxaut scored 1-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rolando Noboa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Chorroarín's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Prudencio Socorro in the 25th minute. The corner led Chorroarín's Prudencio Socorro to fire away a dangerous shot which Rolando Noboa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Narciso Oinatz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milagros Fraga in the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Narciso Oinatz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Chorroarín's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Narciso Oinatz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rubén Vilchez during the 50th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Chorroarín getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Rubén Vilchez hit a great ball. 52 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Narciso Oinatz, 1-3. Chorroarín's Narciso Oinatz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 58th minute of play. The corner ended in Eliseo Mina almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Chorroarín's Narciso Oinatz did a great save. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Timoteo Arotza went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timoteo Arotza in the 89th minute of play. Miguel Alaminos got a throw-in 91 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Gilberto Oso. Eliseo Mina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute of the match, Antonio Tenorio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Narciso Oinatz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The Peru supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
