Felix Montenegro scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cedrick Francoeur, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cedrick Francoeur saved FC Catalonia from getting behind. In the 16th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Han Wei Yuan might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Han Wei Yuan ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Cezary Czeszyk sent off a good shot on target. In the 44th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The FC Catalonia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Cezary Czeszyk came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Cedrick Francoeur however easily saved by the left post. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Catalonia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. FC Catalonia were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Şinasi Ahioğlu took the corner. A very nice done corner allowed Han Wei Yuan to score against Julio Vera in Ecuador's goal. 2-2 after 57 minutes. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Arlindo Tinoco advanced and headed the ball into goal, 3-2 in the 63rd minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, FC Catalonia's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Cedrick Francoeur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 69th minute. When Han Wei Yuan came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the FC Catalonia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Han Wei Yuan couldn't finish the play. Cedrick Francoeur made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after FC Catalonia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cedrick Francoeur quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. FC Catalonia's Czeslaw Piczak was substituted for Cezary Czeszyk. With a little luck, FC Catalonia's Cedrick Francoeur got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cedrick Francoeur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 88th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cedrick Francoeur was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. FC Catalonia's Şinasi Ahioğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
