An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 20th minute of play forced Tello AFC's goalkeeper Dalmacio Pello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute, Pastor Nofre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 23 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Tello AFC's Dalmacio Pello. Dalmacio Pello was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

In the 75th minute of the match, Eliseo Mina tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dalmacio Pello saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Peru's Rafael Gallo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dalmacio Pello in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Tello AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Peru were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
