Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. The supporters of Timmernabben FF booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnulfo Lugo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomás Guillen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Nicklas Dalgren sent off a good shot on target. In the 16thth minute of the game Arnulfo Lugo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 19th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Guillen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Timmernabben FF's Tomás Guillen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 23rd minute of play. Tomás Guillen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 24th minute of the match. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Guillen having to interfere. After 35 minutes of play, Timmernabben FF's Arnulfo Lugo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kaká Junior in the 44th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicklas Dalgren during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th minute, Nicklas Dalgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arnulfo Lugo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 85th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. Timmernabben FF made a substitution. Çakır Yahya replaced Anton Hegg. The supporters of Timmernabben FF booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Sylwester Panikowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Timmernabben FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Sylwester Panikowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomás Guillen stood somewhat misplaced when Felix Montenegro came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 90 minute. After some careless play in the Timmernabben FF defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás Guillen. The Timmernabben FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Guillen should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Tomás Guillen made a huge save. The Timmernabben FF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
