After 40 minutes, Ariel Seber mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BERMEJO and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marcos Cotilla had in the 51stth minute some difficulties stopping Rogelio Senen's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Jacinto Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Romildo in the 99th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. BERMEJO had won after a very even match.
