In the 17th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Heiner Studer having to make a save. 20 minutes into the match, 1. FC Union Weberei's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Heiner Studer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Pierucci kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when 1. FC Union Weberei was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrice Barkholz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 97 minutes in the game Lindo Kran did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Felix Pierucci. 1. FC Union Weberei walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
