An unexpectedly hard shot by 武光星 in the 20th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant had great luck who in the 24thth minute grab hold of the ball when Pedrinho Falconetti from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Encarale a la gordita made a substitution. Herman Lindholm replaced Ildefonso Bernabel. Encarale a la gordita's Paulino Senon was substituted for Osvaldo Mendebal.
