Hílton Hermes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. In the 16th match minute, FC Lassens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Alebom to maneuver through the defense. Viktor Bengtsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Furlan in the 21st minute of play. Anselmo Furlan took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Viktor Bengtsson. Viktor Bengtsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Ian Ramalho scored 1-3 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Viktor Bengtsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ingvar Löfdahl was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 40th minute. FC Lassens's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Bebeto Reis hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute of the match Michael Laudrup sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hílton Hermes skillfully saved the ball. In the 45th minute of the match, Gustav Strömbom got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hílton Hermes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anselmo Furlan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Santos City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
