Niklas Kvalfält charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. If Antônio Sergipano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antônio Sergipano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. After 32nd play minutes Lars Nordmark shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Ian Ramalho and just under the crossbar into goal. 40 minutes into the game, Lars Nordmark cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ian Ramalho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lars Nordmark stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Santos City's goalkeeper Ian Ramalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lars Nordmark. Ian Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Västlund in the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Newcastle United F.C.'s zone, Antônio Sergipano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viktor Sjöman came out of the goal and Antônio Sergipano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aron Östman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ian Ramalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lars Nordmarks short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Ian Ramalho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Joakim Bryngelsson's late challenge caught a Santos City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joakim Bryngelsson helped the player get up and apologised. After 72 played minutes Newcastle United F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Joakim Bryngelsson. In the 72nd minute, Jânio Hermes sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Newcastle United F.C.'s Viktor Sjöman didn't even have to move. When Aron Östman fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newcastle United F.C.'s protests and gave Aron Östman a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 played minutes Newcastle United F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Kent Wik. After a rather tough play, Santos City's Jânio Hermes got a free kick in the 79th minute. 1-2 became the score in the 82nd minute when Antônio Sergipano elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Santos City's attentive Davi Vieira managed to snatch the ball when Kent Wik made a throw-in in the 86th minute of the game. In the 89th minute, Antônio Sergipano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santos City's Anselmo Furlan got his second yellow card of the match in the 91st minute. The referee ordered Anselmo Furlan off the ground. After 92 played minutes Santos City got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Furlan. 94 minutes into the match, Santos City's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Västlund came free, but Ian Ramalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Lars Nordmark's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ian Ramalho was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. The Newcastle United F.C. players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
