When the match had been going on for 5 minutes, Chivos de Punto Fijo's Filip Bochinski got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jacek Matuch. In the 9th minute, Filip Bochinski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacek Matuch was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Dani Hernández played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Éthan Pichard in the 13th minute of play. SV Bad Harzburg's Jacek Matuch proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save SV Bad Harzburg from getting a goal against them. In the 15th minute, Juan Torrent ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacek Matuch was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Jacek Matuch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Torrent, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Jacek Matuch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Torrent, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute Juan Torrent shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacek Matuch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anders Ståhlman made in the 32nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Pere Bombardier immediately put the ball in play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cezary Makomaski to make the kick off. Jacek Matuch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Torrent in the 51st minute of play. Jacek Matuch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filip Bochinski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute Cezary Makomaski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacek Matuch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Dani Hernández proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Chivos de Punto Fijo from getting a goal against them. Jurek Ohrem could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Dani Hernández made a huge save. Cezary Makomaski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacek Matuch having to interfere. Chivos de Punto Fijo made a substitution. Pier Kopacz replaced Filip Bochinski. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Nilmar Marinho was substituted for Zhao Shu Cheng. SV Bad Harzburg's Toralf Hell got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Chivos de Punto Fijo booed when SV Bad Harzburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Carlos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Dani Hernández had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Toralf Hell. Jacek Matuch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilmar Marinho in the 73rd minute of play. Dani Hernández showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Takeshi Bieberstein in the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th match minute, Chivos de Punto Fijo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adalberto Tejeda to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jurek Ohrem got free with Dani Hernández in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner ended in Éthan Pichard almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Chivos de Punto Fijo's Dani Hernández did a great save. After some careless play in the Chivos de Punto Fijo defense, Takeshi Bieberstein kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dani Hernández. The Chivos de Punto Fijo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dani Hernández should have stopped the shot. Nilmar Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilmar Marinho in the 93rd minute of play forced SV Bad Harzburg's goalkeeper Jacek Matuch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Chivos de Punto Fijo support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
