The audience was convinced that Silvestre Loi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albérico Igrejas was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 32nd minute, SV Bad Harzburg's Silvestre Loi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Albérico Igrejas. Albérico Igrejas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Silvestre Loi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albérico Igrejas having to interfere. The supporters of SV Bad Harzburg booed when Sport Maia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albérico Igrejas made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Éthan Pichard sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emmerich Hatschek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Albérico Igrejas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Takeshi Bieberstein in the 54th minute of the match. 2-1 became the score in the 56th minute when Francisco Trinca elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of SV Bad Harzburg booed when Sport Maia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Apolo Bihar didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Éthan Pichard in the 60th minute of play forced Sport Maia's goalkeeper Albérico Igrejas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Éthan Pichard was slow to take the kick. During this time SV Bad Harzburg's players had a chance to rest. The SV Bad Harzburg fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when SV Bad Harzburg's Silvestre Loi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Sport Maia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albérico Igrejas should have stopped the shot. If Silvestre Loi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvestre Loi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albérico Igrejas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sport Maia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SV Bad Harzburg.
