The Diego Eterno fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Casimiro Astrada should have stopped the shot. Casimiro Astrada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Brizuela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Casimiro Astrada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Brizuela in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Gorka came free, but Jose Miguel Marin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Ruben Toledano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute Ricardo Mora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casimiro Astrada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. GuateFortín's Jose Miguel Marin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Siro Salamon in the 32nd minute of play. After having played for 36 minutes, Ricardo Mora managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GuateFortín's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Mora was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Diego Eterno's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Brizuela came free, but Casimiro Astrada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Mora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Ricardo Mora's late challenge caught a Diego Eterno's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
