In the 4th minute, Marno F.C.'s Lázaro Cefero ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Higinio Aguilera. Higinio Aguilera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Marno F.C.'s Aldo Beltxe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feliciano Haritzeder in the 10th minute of play. The supporters of Marno F.C. booed when Los Hijos de Doña Beija was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Argi Casta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hu Xiong Zhen kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fábio Rocha in the 22nd minute of play forced Marno F.C.'s goalkeeper Aldo Beltxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Luís Fábio Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aldo Beltxe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luís Fábio Rocha went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Venancio Sandaili kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lázaro Cefero got free with Higinio Aguilera in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Higinio Aguilera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lázaro Cefero in the 43rd minute. Zeledon Victoro had several of the Los Hijos de Doña Beija's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 45 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Higinio Aguilera as he didn't even see the shot coming.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lázaro Cefero to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fábio Rocha in the 53rd minute of play forced Marno F.C.'s goalkeeper Aldo Beltxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute Lázaro Cefero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Aguilera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Feliciano Haritzeder managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's supporters rose to their feet, but Feliciano Haritzeder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aldo Beltxe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marno F.C.'s James Butler was substituted for Gabriel Mónos. 66 minutes into the match, Marno F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Feliciano Haritzeder came free, but Aldo Beltxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Albino Brion was substituted for Venancio Sandaili. After a rather tough play, Marno F.C.'s Lázaro Cefero got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Higinio Aguilera came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Marno F.C.'s Lázaro Cefero. But to his dismay, Lázaro Cefero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Marno F.C. made a substitution. Zeledon Valiente replaced Lázaro Cefero. If Zeledon Valiente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Higinio Aguilera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Victoro in the 85th minute of play. Marno F.C.'s Aldo Beltxe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Marno F.C. from getting a goal against them. Aldo Beltxe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jyrki Sillanpää, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aldo Beltxe was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Indiana Jones capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Indiana Jones really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, Marno F.C. could leave the field as winners, despite Los Hijos de Doña Beija having more of the ball for most of the match.
