The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Everardo Cordarell in the 7th minute. In the 12th play minute Elpidio Francis came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Glenn Fyfe. 1-0. In the 16th minute, Arnaldo Gabon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. James Batistuta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Branislav Velchevski having to interfere. Alessandro Del Piero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Branislav Velchevski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessandro Del Piero in the 27th minute of play. Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from James Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Branislav Velchevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessandro Del Piero, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the match, A4p FC Gad's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Francis came free, but Glenn Fyfe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by King Scorpio in the 36th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Branislav Velchevski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro Del Piero in the 40th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Elpidio Francis made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game King Scorpio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alessandro Del Piero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Branislav Velchevski having to interfere. After 62 minutes, James Batistuta made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Flavius Cândroveanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Branislav Velchevski made a huge save. 73 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by King Scorpio. In the 77th minute André Monclús shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glenn Fyfe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Flavius Cândroveanu got free with Branislav Velchevski in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A4p FC Gad's Glenn Fyfe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Monclús in the 87th minute of play. The supporters of A4p FC Gad booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timoteo Basualdo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavius Cândroveanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Branislav Velchevski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Flavius Cândroveanu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Branislav Velchevski. Flavius Cândroveanu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Gică Busuioc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Flavius Cândroveanu struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Branislav Velchevski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A4p FC Gad. The A4p FC Gad players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
