Olympique Gdynia's Miroslaw Majorski managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Emil Piesciuk in the 5 minute of the game. 6 minutes into the match, BYDGOSTIA's goal looked a bit too open when Czeslaw Domeracki came free, but Zbyszko Leper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tirso Isasaga in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zbyszko Leper prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olympique Gdynia were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after BYDGOSTIA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fabio-Roman Zabaleta took the corner. Zbyszko Leper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Czeslaw Domeracki in the 23rd minute of play. In the 28th minute Şota Arveladze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zbyszko Leper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, BYDGOSTIA's goalkeeper Zbyszko Leper had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Şota Arveladze. Zbyszko Leper made an important save on a dangerous shot by Czeslaw Domeracki in the 39th minute. Tanek Ostrowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olgierd Kowalski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Olgierd Kowalski made the kick off in the second half. BYDGOSTIA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fabio-Roman Zabaleta ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Olympique Gdynia's corner Fabio-Roman Zabaleta fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Zbyszko Leper quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Czeslaw Domeracki in the 62nd minute of play forced BYDGOSTIA's goalkeeper Zbyszko Leper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Dante Obano in the 66th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by BYDGOSTIA's Mariusz Warka. Olgierd Kowalski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tanek Ostrowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, BYDGOSTIA's goal looked a bit too open when Czeslaw Domeracki came free, but Zbyszko Leper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 71 played minutes Olympique Gdynia got a freekick which was hit by Dante Obano. Dante Obano kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Tanek Ostrowski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olgierd Kowalski in the 73rd minute. In the 73rd minute, BYDGOSTIA's Olgierd Kowalski dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. Zbyszko Leper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şota Arveladze in the 84th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Şota Arveladze in the 90th minute of play forced BYDGOSTIA's goalkeeper Zbyszko Leper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vladislav Sarafov charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vladislav Sarafov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 92 played minutes BYDGOSTIA got a freekick which was hit by Vladislav Sarafov. Olympique Gdynia's Tanek Ostrowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Olympique Gdynia from getting a goal against them. Although Olympique Gdynia had been in control for most of the match, BYDGOSTIA still came away with the win.
