Pedro Eudoxio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th match minute, Temperley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nereo Medero to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the match, Patricio Costa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Temperley's Pedro Eudoxio. Pedro Eudoxio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. 39 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Patricio Costa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Eudoxio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Pedro Eudoxio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Temperley's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Eudoxio came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ildefonso Richie in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Temperley made a substitution. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the game, Temperley's Rodolfo Walme nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Eudoxio was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ildefonso Richie in the 95th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
