When Celedonio Ferman fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Expresso Ranelagh's protests and gave Celedonio Ferman a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Expresso Ranelagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celedonio Ferman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 35 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Evelio Seber made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cirilo Fraco in the 40th minute of play. Evelio Seber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Expresso Ranelagh's Evelio Seber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Gisbert in the 83rd minute of play. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Francisco Shepherd in the 94 minute of the game. Uruguay played a much better game than Expresso Ranelagh and deserved their victory. The Expresso Ranelagh players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
