Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hélio Gomes. Hélio Gomes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Henk Latomme kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 1-1 in the 13 minute of play. Hélio Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Tocantinópolis EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Primitivo Andino made in the 21st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Tocantinópolis EC's Iuri Cosme. Hélio Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Henk Latomme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tocantinópolis EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Henk Latomme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th match minute, Tocantinópolis EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Eger to maneuver through the defense. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Tocantinópolis EC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Hélio Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Eger in the 40th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélio Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ecuador's Felix Montenegro in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tocantinópolis EC's goalie prevented a goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Michel Bagge made a kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Tocantinópolis EC's goalkeeper Hélio Gomes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. The supporters of Tocantinópolis EC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Henk Latomme took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 67th match minute, Tocantinópolis EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iuri Cosme to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Tocantinópolis EC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélio Gomes came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Tocantinópolis EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorian de Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Montenegro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hélio Gomes firmly grabbed it by the left post. Tocantinópolis EC's Adam De Bruijn was substituted for Silvano Abechuco. In the 77th minute of the match Tocantinópolis EC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luís Eger ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Hélio Gomes in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Tocantinópolis EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Hélio Gomes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 88thth minute of the game Henk Latomme who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Tocantinópolis EC's Henk Latomme nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Hélio Gomes made a huge save. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Tocantinópolis EC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
