When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Orlando Bero put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. 8 minutes into the match, Anibal Gergori dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 2-0. Celedonio Harkaitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12thth minute of the game Orlando Bero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Lomas de Zamora FC fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Lomas de Zamora FC's Orlando Bero looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramon Robres. The audience was convinced that Orlando Bero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. 24 minutes into the game, Anibal Gergori recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Anibal Gergori showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Lomas de Zamora FC's Orlando Bero got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Bero in the 29th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Anibal Gergori kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Lomas de Zamora FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Guilabertus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Bero in the 39th minute of the match. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anibal Gergori in the 40th minute of play. Celedonio Harkaitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Orlando Bero showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 6-0 in the 46 minute of play.

A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Alexander Carballo hit a great ball. In the 54th minute of the match Moises Cutberto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Anibal Gergori had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Bero, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 64th minute. The audience was convinced that Orlando Bero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Orlando Bero went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. In the 73rd minute, Celedonio Harkaitz made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. 77 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Ramon Robres came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Bero in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Bero in the 94th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anibal Gergori in the 97th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Lomas de Zamora FC were the better team. Lomas de Zamora FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
