Ferdi Kargin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute Cristian Boniel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferdi Kargin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from John Apelkvist went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 29thth minute of the game Cristian Boniel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Çanakkale getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Mansur Başel hit a great ball. Ferdi Kargin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes in the game, Eliseo Noboa dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 34th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Carballo to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when John Apelkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Çanakkale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mansur Başel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute, Çanakkale's Alican Kutlar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. 46 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Boniel came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristian Boniel to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reis Ünsal in the 54th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Çanakkale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Apelkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Çanakkale had played much better football throughout.
