With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andreas Stehr in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 26thth minute of the game Andreas Stehr who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 温昂义 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andreas Stehr who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Al Lofthouse kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 温昂义 having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Ademovic Football Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Al Lofthouse didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A very good chance for a goal. Andreas Stehr might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andreas Stehr ran back to his position shaking his head. 温昂义 made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. 温昂义 made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 69th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 温昂义 narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
