Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudolph Bosch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ralph Sanger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Joaquin Lugg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roth Winiker kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, B O B I S A's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Sarmiento came free, but Ralph Sanger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute, Gerry Fleischer reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcos Cotilla. The goal made the score 1-0. Miguel Miralles kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Christophe Mehri was extremely unlucky when he, in the 34th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The supporters of Panama booed when B O B I S A was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolf Affentranger didn't get a good kick on the ball.
