Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Andre Shakespeare took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugen Remus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eugen Remus having to make a save. After 9 played minutes Greenbay got a freekick which was hit by Pau Torres. Eugen Remus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Greenbay defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eugen Remus. The Greenbay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eugen Remus should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of play forced Greenbay's goalkeeper Eugen Remus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugen Remus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. Eugen Remus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Greenbay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. In the 40th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 59th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eugen Remus quite easily take care of the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Camilo Gisbert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Greenbay the free kick. Greenbay made a substitution. Hendrik-Jan Niemeyer replaced Will Alderson. After 66 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. In the 68th minute, Greenbay's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, Greenbay's Eugen Remus got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hendrik-Jan Niemeyer in the 77th minute of the match. Pau Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Greenbay's goalkeeper Eugen Remus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustín Saelices. After 82 minutes, Primitivo Andino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Greenbay players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Greenbay:s goal.
