Dinei Gøl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Luiz Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Palombi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martino Pozuelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maximiliano Escribano's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Dinei Gøl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. Martino Pozuelos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Seco went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. S.C. Internacional RS's Martino Pozuelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Cazalla in the 27th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Dinei Gøl came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Dinei Gøl kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Arturo Carvallo hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Bruno Beldad got a free kick in the 40th minute. 44 minutes into the match, S.C. Internacional RS's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Martino Pozuelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Francisco Seco made the kick off in the second half. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Remo Paraibano in the 51 minute of the game. 52 minutes into the game, Francisco Seco recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Martino Pozuelos. Francisco Seco showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. When Brasil Brasil fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.C. Internacional RS's protests and gave Brasil Brasil a yellow card for diving instead. After 55 played minutes S.C. Internacional RS got a freekick which was hit by Brasil Brasil. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Martino Pozuelos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Maciel in the 59th minute of the match. Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Remo Paraibano, made in the 61st minute of the game. A collision led to S.C. Internacional RS getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Frédson Teles hit a great ball. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Negri in the 65th minute of the match. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dinei Gøl's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. The supporters of Uruguay booed when S.C. Internacional RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brasil Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Martino Pozuelos made a huge save. After having played for 83 minutes, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximiliano Escribano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
