Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marius Bălașa having to interfere. Alexandru Chiriloaie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alexandru Chiriloaie fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Juventus Țiu's protests and gave Alexandru Chiriloaie a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th minute, Alexandru Chiriloaie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Honduras's Christian Sancho quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ernest Bărcăuan, made in the 28th minute of the game. Juventus Țiu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. After 43 played minutes Juventus Țiu got a freekick which was hit by Mugurel Buda. After the first half Honduras were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Edmundo Espiga took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marius Bălașa. Marius Bălașa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Esteban Carvallo charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Esteban Carvallo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Esteban Carvallo hit a great ball. If Dorin Popeneciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Honduras booed when Juventus Țiu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernest Bărcăuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match, Edmundo Espiga tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marius Bălașa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Villa in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marius Bălașa saved Juventus Țiu from getting behind. In the 78th minute, Manuel Boteanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Ernest Bărcăuan made in the 81st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Honduras's Luca Espinar. Dorin Popeneciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
