Jonathan Ferrant was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Marciano Koldobika capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marciano Koldobika really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 18th minute of play forced Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Abel Neron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abel Neron made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Abel Neron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abel Neron was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. When Patricio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Deportivo Balvanera booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Milito to make the kick off. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Deportivo Balvanera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaac Dayam didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lisandro López had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Milito's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Milito in the 91st minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Octavio Pes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deportivo Balvanera were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
