It became 0-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulu Hayat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Ulu Hayat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bebeto Müjdat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Doğa Hüdayioğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed Ulu Hayat as he didn't even see the shot coming. 60 minutes into the match, Adem Mutluer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adem Mutluer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bircan Ulaç in the 68th minute of play. Basmane Texas's Ulu Hayat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 71st minute of play. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
