The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Cambeiro got free with Wladyslaw Rojewski in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alex Cambeiro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 85 minutes into the match. 85 minutes into the game, one of Panama:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 3-1 came in the 88th minute when Aldo Apolloni all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. After 91 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Abraham Alguacil. Miguel Miralles kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. 98 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidio Ignatius came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
