Egídio Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 16th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Félix in the 19th minute of the match. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Israel Frascuelo was slow to take the kick. During this time ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s players had a chance to rest. Juan Sebastián Puig tried in the game's 20th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Julio Vera. An annoying self made goal, 1-0. Egídio Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 25th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Egídio Salgado came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egídio Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Israel Frascuelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Henrique in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 39th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Salgado having to interfere. After 42 played minutes ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ got a freekick which was hit by Israel Frascuelo. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Egídio Salgado. Egídio Salgado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 46th minute. ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ made a substitution. Hermínio Vinhas replaced Lucio Cebada. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Egídio Salgado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 54th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Salgado having to interfere. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Egídio Salgado made a huge save. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Egídio Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Egídio Salgado firmly grabbed it by the left post. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Egídio Salgado made a huge save. Egídio Salgado made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. After 76 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. Egídio Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Egídio Salgado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 84th minute. ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s Duarte Félix got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Egídio Salgado was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 92nd minute. The score was now 1-2. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
