Kim Bolas took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudio Hermon. Claudio Hermon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kim Bolas in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudio Hermon saved River Ctes from getting behind. In the 14th minute of the match Sliema Dragons FC got a corner. River Ctes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Baran Erozan ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Sliema Dragons FC's Pepe Ferreira got a free kick in the 15th minute. When Kim Bolas came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Sliema Dragons FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kim Bolas couldn't finish the play. In the 22nd minute, Luiz da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barrie Kerridge made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Jeronimo Vito sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Sliema Dragons FC booed when River Ctes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. A throw-in in the 30th minute of the game was made by Paulino Domiku with Kemal Rafi as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Jeronimo Vito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Barrie Kerridge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kim Bolas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudio Hermon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Claudio Hermon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kim Bolas's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Kim Bolas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudio Hermon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kim Bolas in the 43rd minute of the match. When Jeronimo Vito fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Ctes's protests and gave Jeronimo Vito a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sliema Dragons FC booed when River Ctes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeronimo Vito didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind River Ctes's goalkeeper Claudio Hermon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

After 51st play minutes Kim Bolas shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Claudio Hermon and just under the crossbar into goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kim Bolas in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudio Hermon saved River Ctes from getting behind. 57 minutes into the match, Kim Bolas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Claudio Hermon, 0-4. In the 59th match minute, River Ctes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulino Domiku to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Kim Bolas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Claudio Hermon. That made the score 0-5 in the 61 minute of play. Claudio Hermon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kim Bolas in the 66th minute. Sliema Dragons FC's Dejan Cassar was substituted for Kim Bolas. Paulino Domiku made in the 69th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Jeronimo Vito immediately put the ball in play. Claudio Hermon was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dejan Cassar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 70 minute of play. Dejan Cassar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Claudio Hermon made a huge save. 75 minutes into the game, Sliema Dragons FC's Dejan Cassar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudio Hermon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. The Sliema Dragons FC fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Sliema Dragons FC's Dejan Cassar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-8 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. River Ctes's Claudio Hermon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save River Ctes from getting a goal against them. Claudio Hermon didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 89th minute, which inside left pole to 0-9. If Dejan Cassar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A hard shot 95 in the game by Dejan Cassar from a close distance when the talented Claudio Hermon managed to make a qualified save. River Ctes's players were relieved. Sliema Dragons FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
