The audience thought a goal was coming when Andres Cambiasso got free with Mike Axisa in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute, Kim Bolas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anibal Cambiasso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 46 minutes into the game, Kim Bolas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Anibal Cambiasso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marciano Cambiasso was the one to do the kick off. Kim Bolas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anibal Cambiasso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Miguel Iratze didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, BAIRES's goalkeeper Anibal Cambiasso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dejan Cassar. If Dejan Cassar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dejan Cassar got free with Anibal Cambiasso in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 83 minutes into the game, Sliema Dragons FC's Dejan Cassar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anibal Cambiasso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-8. Anibal Cambiasso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dejan Cassar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-9 in the 87 minute of play.
