The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Amílton Paraíba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofil Tyskie, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teofil Tyskie in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amílton Paraíba saved Poetass FC from getting behind. 8 minutes into the match, Astral's Bogumil Gregorczyk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amílton Paraíba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Astral were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after Poetass FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Teofil Tyskie took the corner. The corner led Astral's Teofil Tyskie to fire away a dangerous shot which Amílton Paraíba despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 14th match minute, Poetass FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dani Portillo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when Astral was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tobiasz Zacharczyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st match minute, Astral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roch Jaraczeski to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Cássio de Senna sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Astral's Radoslaw Miarka didn't even have to move. Amílton Paraíba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bogumil Gregorczyk's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Astral's goalkeeper Radoslaw Miarka, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Amílton Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teofil Tyskie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sandrinho Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radoslaw Miarka having to interfere. 36 minutes into the game, Teofil Tyskie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Amílton Paraíba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Tobiasz Zacharczyk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when Astral was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Noworolnik didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofil Tyskie in the 51st minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper Amílton Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Radoslaw Miarka was a little too slow when Ernani Mendes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-1. If Teofil Tyskie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 65 played minutes Poetass FC got a freekick which was hit by Anísio Vale. Amílton Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobiasz Zacharczyk in the 67th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olavo Carioca during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 68 played minutes Poetass FC got a freekick which was hit by Olavo Carioca. After a defensive mix-up in Poetass FC's zone, Tobiasz Zacharczyk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílton Paraíba came out of the goal and Tobiasz Zacharczyk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cássio de Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Amílton Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teofil Tyskie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bogumil Gregorczyk kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 88th minute of the match Dani Portillo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Radoslaw Miarka showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Bogumil Gregorczyk came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Astral fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bogumil Gregorczyk couldn't finish the play. After 91 played minutes Poetass FC got a freekick which was hit by Raí Massa. Astral were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Poetass FC to leave the ground with a draw.
