In the 42nd minute of the match Endorfina Dukla got a corner. Barcelona de América's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Boruc Frodyma ran over to the corner to take the kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Witomir Smuskiewicz advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-1 in the 42nd minute.

In the 53rd minute Edison Mendez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zbyszko Pierz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barcelona de América's Fabio Marines played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jurand Solibieda in the 56th minute of play. During the 56th minute of the match Felix Llantada completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent.
