Paul Stanley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calderón Palazuelos in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute of the match Barcelona de América got a corner. Psycho-Circus's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Espinola Ucles ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 17th match minute, Psycho-Circus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Cruz to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Psycho-Circus getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Rolando Koldo hit a great ball. After 30 played minutes Barcelona de América got a freekick which was hit by Calderón Palazuelos. In the 43rd minute, Marcelino Lartaun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arturo Mina charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arturo Mina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pancho Leceta to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Psycho-Circus's Isidro Vincente got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Carolo Tanio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Psycho-Circus's supporters rose to their feet, but Carolo Tanio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabio Marines breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 83 minutes, Emiliano Acuña mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Psycho-Circus and the Barcelona de América players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 84 played minutes Psycho-Circus got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Acuña. Psycho-Circus's Paul Stanley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Psycho-Circus from getting a goal against them. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pancho Leceta couldn't finish the play. The Barcelona de América players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
