In the 13th minute, Dani Portillo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Teodoro Pirani. The goal made the score 1-0. Amílton Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Cavalcante in the 15th minute of the match. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when Vila Industrial FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiaguinho Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Luuk de Jong came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Vila Industrial FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luuk de Jong couldn't finish the play. Luuk de Jong's late challenge caught a Poetass FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The Vila Industrial FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vila Industrial FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
