In the 11th minute of the game Jesper Hägert made a throw-in which Karl-Ove Överman played forward. In the 13th minute, Gröngölingarnas IF's Alf Ahlkvist ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Jimmy Lilja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luiz Fernando Leal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 19 minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alf Ahlkvist in the 23rd minute of play. Gröngölingarnas IF were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jesper Hägert took the corner. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fortunato Galliani in the 26th minute. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jesper Hägert was slow to take the kick. During this time Gröngölingarnas IF's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Gröngölingarnas IF's Luiz Fernando Leal to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alf Ahlkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Karl-Ove Överman in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Alex Chicote. 41 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jimmy Lilja. Gröngölingarnas IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 46th minute, Jesper Hägert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alf Ahlkvist made a kick off. Karl-Ove Överman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Fernando Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fernando Leal in the 58th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alf Ahlkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of Gröngölingarnas IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. Gröngölingarnas IF:s Jimmy Lilja showed great skill when he stopped Tomas Illescas:s penalty. Tomas Illescas did an outstanding performance 67 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 3-2 to the right of an irritated Jimmy Lilja in the goal. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alf Ahlkvist's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. In the 85th minute of the match Jesper Hägert sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. Jimmy Lilja showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 89th minute of the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Gröngölingarnas IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvin Arvidsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute, one of Gröngölingarnas IF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gröngölingarnas IF. In the 95th minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Jimmy Lilja. Gröngölingarnas IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fernando Leal in the 99th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gröngölingarnas IF had played much better football throughout.
