Carlos Netto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 70thth minute of the game Per Eliasson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Sundens BK fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Sundens BK's Per Eliasson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 76 minutes, Per Eliasson made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Per Eliasson in the 81st managed to get into a good position. Axel Martinsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
