Józef Mlynarczyk came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Mariano Lacasa. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Mariano Lacasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Józef Mlynarczyk having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Claudio-Paul Caniggia notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Chile's Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Tolino in the 25th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Józef Mlynarczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnulfo Marko, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Wilfredo Thomas hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Östen Stor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudio-Paul Caniggia in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Romulo Brun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. In the 46thth minute of the game Mariano Lacasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Pucho's Józef Mlynarczyk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Deportivo Pucho made a substitution. Ahmet Nasir Nesefi replaced Claudio-Paul Caniggia. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Nasir Nesefi in the 64th minute of play. When Guillermo Fontirroig fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chile's protests and gave Guillermo Fontirroig a yellow card for diving instead. Guillermo Fontirroig kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 69th minute Julio Tolino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69thth minute of the game Julio Tolino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Arnulfo Marko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Thiago Pliego was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Nasir Nesefi in the 77th minute of play. With a little luck, Deportivo Pucho's Józef Mlynarczyk got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Józef Mlynarczyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Francisco Carballar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Józef Mlynarczyk. Deportivo Pucho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Carballar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 92nd match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Pozo to maneuver through the defense. 94 minutes into the game, Östen Stor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Pucho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chile the free kick. Östen Stor hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Alan Tamayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deportivo Pucho succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Chile had controlled the match.
