Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Claudiu Popescu kicked off to start the match. In the 8th match minute, Stoicii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ştefan Nebunu to maneuver through the defense. Olimpiu Oncescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Puig, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 16th minute of play forced Stoicii's goalkeeper Olimpiu Oncescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Alfredo Zoido managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Zoido was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Abel Carballo fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Abel Carballo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Stoicii booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stoicii's Olimpiu Oncescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 25th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Axel Tasis during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 30 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mugur Aldulea. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Felix Zbora managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stoicii's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Zbora was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudiu Popescu in the 34th minute of play. Felix Zbora's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Axel Tasis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudiu Popescu in the 45th minute of play. Claudiu Popescu was extremely unlucky when he, in the 46th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Olimpiu Oncescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaron Alcocer made a great header on Costa Rica's corner, it was just that Stoicii's Olimpiu Oncescu managed to reach the ball for a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Claudiu Popescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stoicii's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudiu Popescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd minute, Mugur Aldulea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stoicii fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 75th match minute, Stoicii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maxim Capătă to maneuver through the defense. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Axel Tasis hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudiu Popescu in the 85th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Stoicii's Dumitru Mârza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stoicii's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
